Norwegen - Ski & Sail Tromsø to Alta
Next April we can offer you a special Ski and Sail trip that is very exclusive and unique in this form. In the arctic metropolis of Tromsø we will set the sails. The 6-day sailing boat trip then takes us through breathtaking and lonely mountain ranges that invite us to go on a ski tour.

Itinerary
Via Oslo we reach the arctic metropolis Tromsø. Our floating home for the next 7 days, the SY Pacific Star, is docked at the port. After a safety briefing and a few tips for the sailing trip, we untie the lines and start our journey to the north, partly by help of the motor and partly sailing. Soon we reach wild northern Lyngen Alps, where we find our first ski tour destinations. We will meet less and less people as we reach the islands of Arnoya and Laukoya and if we then go even further north, the chance that we will be all alone is very high. When the weather is good, we can climb the thickly glaciated Oksfjordjokelen.
On the island of Stjeronya we will anchor in one of the deeply cut fjords and enjoy an absolutely impressive run straight to the sea. On the 7th day we reach the port of the city of Alta. Now it's time for us to say goodbye to the Pacific Star. We take the shuttle to the airport and via Oslo we start our journey home back into spring.
Information about the Pacific Star
The Pacific Star is a 50 foot sailboat specially equipped for Arctic waters. A powerful diesel generator and a sophisticated heating system make your stay in the Arctic very pleasant. The boat has 4 double sleeping cabins and a berth for the crew, 3 toilets and showers, and a spacious saloon with nice seating and a kitchen.
The ship is steered by Marcin, with whom we have traveled quite a few times. Another crew member helps with shore leave with the dinghy and will prepare all meals for us during our stay. With a little organization, you can live very well on the boat for a week, but a sailboat is not a hotel and we have to make some small compromises.
Equipment
Normal ski touring equipment and a change of clothing are fine for this region at this time of year. The temperatures in early April are between +2°C and -10°C. A safety harness including a screw carabiner is also required to climb the glacier. With your booking we will send you a detailed equipment list.

- Experience in ski touring, safe climbing on skins is mandatory.

A realistic self-assessment and an appropriate fitness level is required to join our trips. In order to enjoy a long day of skiing and to reduce the risk of injury, it is important to get in shape and possess a good level of fitness.
