A spectacular landscape is waiting for you!

The newly opened lodge with the best infrastructure is picturesquely situated on the deep Kufjord on the island of Seiland. On Seiland there is only a small road network of less than 10 km. We can reach most ski tour starting points by boat. The remoteness itself clearly limits the number of visitors and we can experience the beautiful landscape in exclusive company. Varied and full of unique moments, this week will be one of your ski touring highlights.

Travel Itinerary

From Central Europe we fly via Oslo to Alta. We are picked up at the airport by a shuttle vehicle and reach the small ferry station in Storekorsnes in less than an hour. From here we cross the Vargsundet and reach our lodge at Store Kufjorden. Upon arrival, a delicious dinner awaits us in the picturesque accommodation. The next 6 days are now ours, to get to experience the most beautiful ski tours on Seiland and Stjernoya. After a hearty breakfast, we usually go by boat to one of the various starting points. After an incredible summit experience and a spectacular descent, the boat sets off again and takes us back to our accommodation.

After 6 unforgettable days it is time for us to say goodbye. On the boat trip towards Alta we look back with joy at the quiet mountains of the island of Seiland and unforgettable memories will stay with us. After a farewell dinner and a last hotel night in Alta, we finally start our journey home on Friday.

Our Accommodation

We are accommodated in a newly converted lodge in the small fishing village of Altnesdalen. Here we are excellently accommodated in beautiful double rooms and well catered for with culinary delights. Single rooms are not available or only available to a very limited extent on this trip. After a long day of skiing, we look forward to a hot sauna. In the cocktail bar we let another unforgettable day passing by in a very nice ambience. The lodge is well maintained and has many amenities, but it is not a hotel. For example, the rooms do not have a private shower and toilet. But we think that can be overlooked when we realize where we are and what a privilege we have to go ski touring in this lonely mountain world.

Terrain and Peaks

Most of our destinations are peaks between 800 and 1000 meters in the Kufjord area. A slightly longer morning boat trip takes us to the spectacular island of Stjernoya, where we will have a beautiful ski tour on the Kvalfjord.

The terrain is ideal for ski tours: we can master all ascents with climbing skins, sometimes with the help of crampons. All runs are also in the comfort range with slopes between 25 and 35 degrees.
