High up in the Aosta Valley...

Scratching the 3000 mark

At the end of August we went to the beautiful Aosta Valley for a few days. The culturally rich valley is surrounded by the highest mountains in the Alps and offers an almost endless number of trails that go down into the valley from all directions. In addition to a couple of shuttle runs, where the focus was on pure downhill pleasure, this time we also went high. On the very first day we stood on a nearly 3000 meter high summit, which we fought hard for. The bike had to be pushed almost 500 meters in altitude and then carried briefly at the end. But the effort was richly rewarded: the summit offers an unbelievable view of the Grand Paradiso, over Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn. The highlight is then the descent, which only wants to end after 2500 meters of descent in the Aosta Valley. What a day!

On the other days it wasn't quite as high, but almost every descent started at over 2000 meters and gave us endless trail fun al lthe way down to Aosta, which is over 2000 meters lower. There the beer tasted particularly good at the end of the day...
