A hell of a lot fresh snow

Actually, fresh snow is positive...

...but a low pressure system right above us with persistent snowfall is unfortunately more of a hindrance during heli-skiing. And so the yield for our two groups in Valtellina this winter was unfortunately modest. They were only able to experience the fascination of heliskiing on one day each. On the other days, the chairlift had to help them get up. Unfortunately, downdays are part of heliskiing and sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.

The great hospitality from Corrado the hotel landlord and the really excellent food helped with a glass of good Italian red wine to overcome the disappointment...at least a little.
