The first three days of our Chile skiing journey were already just great. In Thermas de Chillan the runs were amazing: sunshine and powder to the full. From Puenta de Fraile down to the Valle Hermosa there were no tracks in the fresh snow before us. Yesterday we climbed the Nevado de Chillan in about two hours. Afterwards we were able to ski down about 2000 vertical metres in great snow. Tomorrow, sunday, it is supposed to snow a lot. We will use this day and drive further south towards the freeride paradise Corralco. Newly built lift stations lead into an amazing freeride area, we are already very much looking forward to it….
In Corralco Lonquemai the wheather was not as good as before, we were able to see the mountain only once. After about two days in this region we decided the head back north into Valle Nevado, the wheather and snow forecast were just so promising. There we enjoyed another few days of paradise freeriding with best wheather and snow conditions. Absolutely stressfree, the 1000 vertical metres at Santa Teresita were ours.
After three days in Valle Nevado we drove another 150 km to the north to Portillo. The lifts here lead very steeply ever further up to 3400 metres. While the southern runs were still clad in deep powder, the northern runs in the afternoon had beautiful firn snow on them.
The last day of our South-America skiing journey we will spend in Vina del Mar, where there’s sunshine and spring-like temperatures.
