Since 2004 we travel with skis to Honshu, the main island of Japan. With annually increasing knowledge of the area, we have been developing this journey ever since. In the heart of the Japanese Alps  it snows about 22 meters each winter, making the region one of the snowiest on earth. Several small ski areas are close to the accommodation with superb off-piste skiing. If it snows, you are protected from wind and weather in magical forests. Even shorter descents are a lot of fun skiing in legendary Japow, Japanese Powder. If visibility allows we are able to ski in the high alpine above the tree line, although this requires the ascent with skins. The views into the surrounding mountain landscape are absolutely stunning.

Since the last 13 winters, we were absolutely impressed by the amount and quality of the powder on Japan´s northern island Hokkaido. If a place on earth can say “we have the lightest powder”, for sure it is here. With an annual snowfall of about 20 meters, the region around Niseko is one of the snowiest places on the planet. Due to its setting, it is a very favored place. From November until April huge amounts of fresh and light powder snow are guaranteed. Probably the most known place on Hokkaido is Niseko, although there are many other smaller places that are really worth going like Rusutsu, Kiroro, and Kokusai. If you love to ski in heavy snowfall through perfectly gladed terrain, I am sure you will discover the ultimate conditions with us here on Hokkaido.

Powderskiing on the edge of Europe …

The Goderzi Pass is situated in the minor Caucasus. During the winter months western winds bring wet and humid air masses over the Black Sea and they get stuck at the main divide of the little Caucasus. This leads to heavy snowfalls and in regular winters the snow height in January is around 3 to 4 meters. From Tiblisi, the capital of Georgia, it is roughly a 4 hour drive, depending on road conditions, to the foot of the Goderdzipass. But where is the lift and where is the hotel? Not many ski areas on our planet have this kind of access… but this is one of them. At the end of the road is a small car park, a Pistenbully Snowcat is waiting for us to take us up to the Hotel Meteo, right at the Goderdzi Pass at a sea level of about 2100 meters. The next 6 days will be yours to enjoy incredible skiing all around Goderdzi Pass. If you look for an ultimate ski adventure trip right at the outer edge of Europe, you will love our Powderdream at Goderdzi Pass.

Here you can watch a short movie

We love to break into exotic realms to go skiing. In 2017 we discovered the small town Brezovica during a reconnaissance trip in the Balkans. Tucked away in a valley of the Dinaric Alps, the development of modern ski tourism did not take place there yet. The once built lifts seem nostalgic and with smiles you use the three still functioning facilities to get into the spectacular terrain on the mountain. Arrived at the mountain station follows a nearly one-hour ascent with skins to the highest point at over 2,600 m above sea level. The difference in altitude down to the valley is more than 1,000 meters. Between Macedonia in the south and Kosovo in the north, this is a place that offers great opportunities for freeriders. On one day of the week we use a snowcat to get into the surrounding area without having to climb. Optionally, further trips with the “Cat” can be organized on site. We appreciate riding in Brezovica far away from well-known destinations. Long and spectacular runs and also the snow quality in the last two winters have convinced us to return and to offer this trip again.
