Georgia - Caucasus

Georgia is home of the highest mountains of Europe. Jagged rock towers, surrounded by gigantic glaciers and ice slopes. A freeride terrain of your wildest dreams.

Georgia...

...on the edge of Europe is home to the Minor and Greater Caucasus, two mountain ranges that could not be diffrent. On the one side the Minor Caucasus with smooth, round edged mountains, summer pastures and forest with glades that are simply perfect for skiing. On the other hand Svaneti, the big brother of the Minor Caucasus. Here everything is just twice as big: the peaks rise more than 5000 meters high up in the sky. The terrain is very alpine, there a huge glaciers, pristine rock towers and gigantic slopes. Right in the heart of Svaneti you will find Mestia, the capital and UNESCO world heritage. This region is inhabited by the Svans for many centuries and every step you will find traces of their long cultur and history.

2006 we visited Svaneti for the first time and have been in love right away! The skiing possibilities, the mountains, the culture and hospitality of the locals just captured our hearts. Since then, with a short break due to the conflict with Russia, we are coming back and back to this magic place. Meanwhile we have made many friends in Svaneti and are always welcome.
