A bit of everything at Polar Heliski Camp

Spring snow and some powder...

...we found during our first week in Sweden at the Polar Heliski Camp. Unfortunately, many slopes were windblown, but thanks to the good eye of our experienced team of mountain guides, the group was still able to ski nice powder in the north-facing tubs. On the south side the snow froze up nicely during the sunny week and so we still benefited from the unusually mild temperatures.

Our accommodation, the Kvikkjokk Fjällstation, may be basic, but the hospitality and very good food make up for it. And so the group agreed at the end of the week...even if there wasn't the knee-deep powder that we had hoped for, it was a successful, relaxed ski week!
