High above the fjords

Skitouring alone in a Nordic dream landscape

A group of friends enjoyed a wonderful week of touring with our mountain guide, Alex Lechner, in the Sunmore Alps. The tours began amidst deep fjords, often with skis on backpacks for the first 15 minutes due to a lack of snow at lower elevations. However, conditions soon improved, and the views gradually opened up to reveal the stunning and spectacular landscape of the Sunmore Alps.

Thanks to Alex's excellent knowledge of the area, the group reached a beautiful summit every day and was often rewarded with good snow conditions on the descent... until the snow disappeared again on the last few meters back to the car. But that was quickly forgotten when, back at our lovely house with its fjord view, the bottle caps popped and everyone toasted to another fantastic day of touring.
