Icy cold in Kazakhstan

Freezing temperatures...

...and deep wintry landscape awaited our group in Kazakhstan. From the modern city of Nur Sultan we went into the Altai, where we took up quarters in a comfortable, well-heated mountain hut. We reached the peaks and beautiful Poder slopes in different ways. Sometimes with the snow cat, sometimes on foot on skins, even one day with an MI-8.

After a short rest at the summit with a stunning view of the endless expanse of the Altai, it was time to “connect” and off into the white intoxication down to our lonely mountain hut, where the sauna was already running at full speed...
