24/04 - 29/04/2011: Haute Route Classic Chamonix - Zermatt

Price: 930 EUR
To ski with one’s own power from Chamonix to Zermatt is a dream and real challenge for many skiing mountaineers. Just behind Argentiere we will leave the civilisation and move past the shapely peaks of the Aig, Argentiere and Chardonet.
In Bourg St. Pierre we can take one last shower, then we will head east to the Val Sorey. At the Plateau du Couloir, directly situated by the mighty Grand Combin, we will have to carry the skis on our backs and climb up with climbing irons for 400 vertical metres. Afterwards we will be rewarded by a breath-taking downhill run over the Glacier du Sanadon. On the next day we will do the Pigne d’Arolla (3,890 metres above sea level). At the Vignette cottage we will replenish in order to be fit to conquer the three passes of Eveque, Col du Mt Brule and Col du Valpeline in order to get to Zermatt on the last day. The Haute Route is one of the most beautiful skiing transitions of the Alps.
