02/12 – 10/12/2011: Sheregesh Altai Freerideopen

Price: 1,450 EUR

Sheregesh is an old, traditional Russian ski area. Already in the Soviet times lifts where installed in those mountains. It was the microclimate, with its huge annual amounts of snow that made this place famous. Today Sheregesh is next to Soch as one of the most well known ski areas in Russia. In the Winter that lasts here from October until May, 3 – 4 meters of snow are normal. Over the last years more and more new lifts have been installed. Now they have 3 brand new 8 man gondolas and about 8 partly highspeed chairlifts. These modern lifts will make it possible to have a lot of great skiing in the Siberian powder. The season starts already at the end of October, so by the time we  get there in December, 2 -3 meters of snow can be expected. Due to the microclimate and its huge snowfalls, don´t expect to see too much of the sun. Most days will be rather snowy. Since most of the runs are around tree level or below, visibility will not be such an issue. The lift will take us up from 600 meters to 1290 meters. If we want to go higher we can either skin up or pay a few rubles to be towed up by a Skidoo. The peak is called Mustag and offers a great variety of very nice offpiste runs.
If you want to ride nice Siberian powder already in the early season this trip will be a great choice for you.

Our Hotel Kederova has a good standard and is situated directly at the bottom of the lifts. On the following Saturday morning we need to leave Sheregesh to catch the plane back to Moscow, where we land at the same time as we leave Novokuznetzk, due to the time change. 09/12 – 11/12/2011: “Go with the snow” Weekend 1

_BEN3312.jpg_BEN3350.jpg_BEN3418.jpg

Preis: 330 EUR

Unsere “Go with the Snow” Weekends haben sich speziell in der Vorsaison bestens bewährt.

11/12 – 18/12/2011: “Go with the snow” Week Alpen

BEN_1981.jpgDSC00916.jpglaax3.jpg

Price: from 1,100EUR

Already in the pre season we are always looking for the best powder. Unfortunately the snow doesn´t distribute in an  equal way every year. Our “go with the snow week” will give us the flexibility to choose the ideal destination just shortly before the trip. For sure we will try to run this week somewhere in the Alps. So if we see good snow somewhere between the French and the Eastern Austrian Alps we will choose a spot in the last minute. If you like to ski fresh powder and don´t want to share it with a lot of others, our December “go with the snow week” will be an idea for you.

The “go with the snow” trips have proven successful especially in the early winter. In this time of the year snow coverages may vary from place to place and can be great in one spot and very poor in another. If the north gets it, Arlberg, St. Anton is always a great choice. If the west get it, the Bernese Oberland or Engelberg could be the destination. So far we always made the right choice and found good snow with our “go with the snow” weekends.

06/01 – 15/01/2012: Sushi Powder Road Trip Japan 1

Freeriding Japan Niseko 2010Freeriding Japan Niseko 2010Freeriding Japan Niseko 2010

Pictures of the trip you will find here

Price: 1,850 EUR

Already the last 3 winters we were absolutely impressed by the amounts and qualities of the powder on Japan´s northern island Hokkaido. In the season 2011 we spent 6 weeks in this great sushi powder. So we can really speak about 100 % powder guarantee. Surely, Niseko is one of the most famous powder spots on Hokkaido, although there are lots of other great places, that are way more unknown. With our Hokkaido Road Trip we will give you the opportunity to get to know some of the best places. If you love to ski some of the best powder, take a nice soak in hot springs, enjoy delicious food and all in one of the most hospitable countries in the world, the Hokkaido trip with us will be your ideal holiday.

Trip process

After your arrival at Chitose Airport, we will drive by minivan for about 2 hours through snowy landscapes to Furano. Furano is a typical Japanese Ski resort built in the 80´s, when Japan had its ski boom. Nowaday´s a lot of the ski areas see a lot less visitors, since skiing in Japan lost its popularity in the mid 90´s. On Mt. Kitanomine we have incredible freeride potential through magical forests. First tracks are pretty much guaranteed, since Furano does not see a lot of Freeriders. The next day we will get to know the Alpaha Resort which is 60 km away, a place where dreams come true. The runs are more than 1000 vertical meters in most directions, where we will be the only ones skiing in this remote location. If the weather allows it on the 3 rd day we will visit Asahidake. A cruisy cable car takes us up to 1700 meters towards the Mt. Asahidake, the highest vulcano on Hokkaido. Record snowfalls of more than 9 meters are measured here very often. Through deep snowed in forests, most of the runs lead down to the bottom station, where we also find a natural hot spring after skiing. After a nice day we will have a transfer to Niseko. On our way, in Otaru we will have dinner in one of the best Sushi restaurants. Then we will continue our drive along the deeply snowed in coastline to Niseko. Late in the evening we will reach Niseko, the Mecca of powder snow. There is only a small number of places on earth that sees more snowfall than Niseko. The annual snowfall is over 18 meters. Due to its exposed location right on the coast, the massive cold continent of China and Russia behind, and the warm water stream in the Japanese ocean, is the combination that makes Niseko to one of the snowiest places on earth. The next 4 days we will explore the best powder runs all around Mt. Anupuri. More than 30 lifts are combined at Niseko United. From the top lift we reach the summit in only 15 minutes bootpacking. From here we have the choice in which direction to ski. Mostly we ski down the north side, to an abandoned ski area, where only an old snow cat remains. This cat will take us up to another vulcano, Weisshorn. From here we  have one run back to our hotel. After 4 days of riding Niseko, its time for us to say good bye. By minibus we will transfer you to Chitose Airport, from where you will fly back home.

05/02 – 10/02/2012:Freeride Alta Valtellina/ Changed to Arlberg

price, 1150 EUR

If you think you know all the best Freeride Spots in the Alps sometimes you are wrong, same as we… Last Winter we discovered the area in the upper Valtellina, with the towns, Bormio, Santa Caterina and Isolaccia. All 3 places are very close to each other and offer incredible possibilities for great Freerides. Isolaccia is absolutely unknown in the circles of Freeriders, but on the 2800 Meter high Barron we ski the stunning north side down to Valdidentro with not less than 1200 vertical meters. In Bormio the cable car takes us up to more than 3000 meters. A large number of great rides takes us back down into Valfurva. If we prefer to ski southsides at Croce Sud we find very nice couloirs from narrow to wide. As the 3.rd place we ski in Santa Caterina. Not only ski world cups take place in this cosy mountain village, Freeriders also love the wide open and treeless slopes. With short hikes, even after a few days of the last snowfall we reach still fresh and untracked Powder. After a great skiing day we can enjoy the  natural hot springs of Bormio an unforgettable experience. If you want to discover a new place in the Alps our Freeride in Alta Valtellina is the right choice.

Requirements

  • Skiing in all contions is mandetory
  • Hikes on skins up to 45 minutes are involved

The price of 1150 EUR includes the following

  • 7 Overnights in a 3 Star Hotel incl. halfboard based on doubles in Bormio
  • 6 guided days by a UIAGM Mountain and Skiguide
  • Safetyequipment LVS device, shovel and probe ( needs to be anounced 10 days before travel in our office )
  • Travelcancelation insurance
  • Insolvency insurance acc. § 651 k BGB

Extra costs

  • Travel expanses
  • Lunch and drinks
  • Liftticket for 6 days Alta Valtellina about 150 EUR
  • Heliskiing as an option 150 EUR per run

Heliskiing option

We have to option to go for on day of heliskiing. In the upper Valdidentro there are some great possibilities just for example, Cima de Piazzi and Pizzo Filone. Heliskiing in this region is not fully established yet but offers great runs. We are using a local helicompany that is flying in this region for many years.

How to get there

To reach the upper Valtellina from the northern side of the alps is in winter time a bit more time consuming. The fastest way is via Lindau – Landquart – Klosters – Vereina tunnel – Zernez – Livigno – Passo Eira – Bormio. Alternative via St. Moritz – Passo Bernina – Tirano  - Bormio. In very bad and snowy weather we reccomend to use the St. Gotthard Tunnel to Belinzona then to Colico – Sondrio to Bormio.

We will meet on Saturday 4th of February at 7 pm in Bormio we will let you know the Hotel asap.

07/02 – 16/02/2012: Sushi Powder Road Trip 5

Requirements

  • This journey is only suited for skiers with at least a few years of freeriding experience.
  • Uphill climbs of up to one hour are possible.

The service package of 1,850 EUR includes

  • 8 overnights in Niseko Lodge including breakfast

08/02 – 12/02/2012: Freeride Andermatt/ Disentis

FreeskiingGargellen FreerideHeliskiing

Price: 740 EUR

Boarder and Freeski novices are welcome

Andermatt as well as Disentis offers an almost endless variety of possibilites for Freeriding. For these 4 days we have chosen the cosy little mountain town of Sedrun. From here,  depending on the daily conditions we have the choice between 2 top spots. At Pez Ault you will have more than 2000 vertical meters to ski, for example, in Val Acletta or in the great Valley of Strem. On days with snowfall we always have the chance to ski in a lower elevated area at Sedrun/ Dieni. Even some forest runs provide good visibility on snowy days. From our base Sedrun, we reach  the pass of Oberalp within 15 minutes by train. From here we ski down directly to the town of Andermatt, where the cable car will take us up to the 3000 meter peak of Gemsstock.  Again we have the choice. Do we ski steep on the east side into the Unteralp Valley or do we take it a little more easy and ski through the gentle slopes in the Valley of Guspis? If you like to ski and get to know lots of different places these 4 days will be  ideal for you.

freeride AndermattArlberg Freeride Januar 2010Disentis Oberalpstock Freeride

Preis 580 EUR

freeriding_D4Q4322.jpgSnowboard Freeride AlpenSnowboard Freeride Alpen

Price: 1090 EUR

In Val d’Anniviers it has been rather quiet in the open terrain so far. But the traditional and laid-back villages of St. Luc, Zinal and Grimentz offer a great freeriding terrain. By cable car one can get 3,000 metres above sea level. There is a variety of great runs in open terrain. The freeride runs from Pointe de Tsirouc down to Grimentz, which lies 1,400 vertical metres further down, is only one of the highlights. The runs are so varied that, if the conditions are good, we can explore new hillsides and freeski runs. You will be surprised by the quiet valley in the shadows of the four-thousand metre high summits of the Wallis.

Price: from 1,650EUR

In late April the valleys of the alps start to become green and the snow is getting wet and melting away. In the  north of Sweden the mountains still lay under a deep cover of snow.  The sun is shining for almost 20 hours per day. the insolation so little that cold powdery winter snow will remain on northern exposures. Remember we are about 250 km. north of the Polar Circle. With our trip ” skiers dream in the high north,” we will provide you with a very varied ski trip at the end of the winter. After our arrival at Kiruna Airport, an 80 km. drive will take us through an incredible landscape to the small village of Abisko right by the still deep frozen lake.
The next 6 days will be at our disposal. Each day we will decide depending on weather and conditions where we will take you. The ski area of Abisko offers small hikes and some very nice off piste skiing. The helicopter is based directly behind our lodge and can take us to any peak in the closer region.
