2012: Val d’Anniviers Freeride Week

In Val d’Anniviers it has been rather quiet in the open terrain so far. But the traditional and laid-back villages of St. Luc, Zinal and Grimentz offer a great freeriding terrain. By cable car one can get 3,000 metres above sea level. There is a variety of great runs in open terrain. The freeride runs from Pointe de Tsirouc down to Grimentz, which lies 1,400 vertical metres further down, is only one of the highlights. The runs are so varied that, if the conditions are good, we can explore new hillsides and freeski runs. You will be surprised by the quiet valley in the shadows of the four-thousand metre high summits of the Wallis.

Requirements

speedy skiing on the pistes; this week is also ideal for people with only a little off piste experience
climbs of up to 30 minutes per day are possible

The price of 1090 EUR includes

6 overnights with half board in double rooms
5 days guiding with UIAGM mountain and skiing guide
safety equipment LVS device, shovel and sensor on loan (must be booked at least 10 days prior to travel)

How to get there

Autobahn (motorway) to Bern, then head towards Interlaken, turn off at Spiez, head towards Kandersteg, load your car on the train in Loetschberg into the Rhonetal, turn left in Sierre into Val d’Anniviers. We will meet in Hotel A la Pointe de Zinal in Zinal on 12/02/2012 at 7 pm.
